A dropout will beat a genius through hard work

Hey there👋 I'm Akinola Akinpelu. I am a designer, developer, and UX researcher compulsively working to build excellent digital products.

I was born and raised in Lagos, Nigeria. Right from childhood, I've been fascinated by how things worked and how they were made.My curiosity and love for creativity made me explore areas like photography, art, music, design, and building impactful digital products.

I graduated from the University of Lagos with a BSc in Geology in 2019 and worked as a geologist for a while. In 2021, I didn't think I was making an impact in that space so I quit my job.

By late 2021, I had fully switched careers, transitioned to UX, and now had the opportunity to help people live better lives through product design. This felt more fulfilling. My desire for more led me to start studying web development in 2022. Now, I am a Designer and a Front-end Developer studying to become a full stack Developer.

Presently, I'm the lead designer and UX researcher at Riders in Motion. I lead the design strategy for the company's suite of personalization products. When I'm not working, I'm building my agency called UX_DEV which aims to take products through the complete development cycle.

I am a Christian serving at This Green Church, an Arsenal (football) and OKC Thunder(basketball) fan. I enjoy swimming, playing Guitar, and watching Anime.
